How to make a poinsettia wreath

Wreaths and poinsettias are two of the most popular Christmas decorations around the world. What’s even better is when you put them both together! Here’s how to make your very own poinsettia wreath for your own home or even as a gift for a loved one.

You will need:

  • A selection of festive foliage and poinsettias (use artificial varieties for a long-lastin wreath)
  • Wreath-shaped floral foam
  • Wire for securing the wreath to a wall or door
  • Festive berries (also artificial)
  • Pair of scissors
  • Battery powered LED lights

Method:

  • Start by placing your floral foam on your table with the top side up.
  • Attach the wire and wrap it around the top part of the foam wreath to create a kind of handle from which to hang it.
  • Trim and insert your Christmas foliage (like pine or fir) around the outter and inner rims of the wreath.
  • Add your poinsettias to the front facing section of the wreah and make sure that you space them apart evenly.
  • Add some more foliage in between the poinsettias to hide the foral foam.
  • Finish off by adding berries in between. If you like, you can also add a Christmas ribbon.
  • Add your LED lights in betwee and make sure that they are evenly spaced apart. The best option is a string of LED lights that run off battery power.
  • Hang your wreath on your front door or anywhere else in your home and enjoy.

Once the holiday celebrations are over, remember to remove the batteries from your lights and back the wreath away in a sealed container to keep away dust, moisture, and light. By doing so, you can use this wreath for years to come.
