Hardy blooms for your wedding

When it comes to your wedding, every little detail is important. The flowers you choose are an essential part of the décor and they need to look their best for the entire day. This is why you need hardy flowers for your big day.

Chrysanthemums

Mums are some of the most hardy of all flowers. They are full in appearance and available in many different colours too. There are several varieties available including those that almost resemble a spider. They can be used in various displays at your ceremony and reception.

Daisies

There are several types of daisies from which to choose. They have several flowers on a single stem which work perfectly as filler flowers. These flowers are particularly resistant to the heat which is perfect for your big day. You don’t have to worry about them wilting in the heat.

Carnations

Carnations are beautiful with all of their ruffles and they are available in many different colours. Spray carnations are excellent filler flowers while the regular variety work well as mass flowers.

Peruvian Lilies

Also known as alstroemeria, these stems have three to five flowers each. They are superb filler flowers and they add excellent texture and colour.

Succulents

Succulents are excellent as centrepieces and they can even be added to bouquets. Once you are done, you can plant them and enjoy their beauty for years to come! Succulents have a wonderfully long vase life and they add amazing texture to the arrangement. They pair particularly well with flowers like proteas.

Cymbidium orchids

Orchids are luxurious, beautiful and they are the longest-lasting of all cut flowers. If you prefer, you can even use potted orchids to decorate your reception. Just make sure that you use a decorative pot or surround the plant with smaller flowers or potted plants.

Proteas

Rich in colour, texture and impressive in size, proteas can be used in bridal bouquets and centrepieces alike. You don’t need a lot of them to create an amazing effect. One or three will usually do the trick.

No matter the types of wedding flowers you choose, make sure that your blooms are transported correctly and properly hydrated. This is the best way to ensure that they last and look their best for hours.
