Floral lotion recipe and tips

Have you ever found yourself in the bathtub and shower section of your local supermarket wondering what type of hand lotion to choose? Most of the time we can’t find the exact perfume or product we want, so we settle for the second best option. Well, not any longer! Now you can choose the fragrance of your hand lotion and prepare it yourself! You can also choose to use a single scent or create a blend of scents. Use different floral, fruity and other essential oils to design your own fragrance. Once you master a few, you can even make and package them as gifts for your friends and loved ones! Imagine surprising them on their birthday with fresh flowers and equally scented home-made hand cream!

Ingredients you need for an almond hand cream:

1/4 cup beeswax

1/2 cup coconut oil

1/2 cup almond oil

1/4 cup rose water

Directions:

Warm the beeswax in a double boiler.

Add the almond and coconut oils and stir well.

Add the rose water and make sure you mix well.

Pour the floral lotion into containers while hot.

The lotion will firm up as it cools.

***You can either buy or make your own rose water. To make your own, you can boil a cup and a half of distilled water before adding a cup of rose petals. You need to simmer for 10 minutes before straining the mixture.
