Easy tips for cleaning your flower vase

One of the most important parts of keeping your flowers fresh require a clean flower vase. Sometimes, however, dirt can build up inside your vase or it might be too small to really scrub. Fortunately, there are a few tricks you can use to restore your vases to their usual beautiful state.

Salt and vinegar

Vinegar and salt are great for flower vase cleaning. You should find both of these items in your kitchen at all times which makes this cleaning method even more convenient. All you need to do is mix half a teaspoon of salt with a small amount of white vinegar to create a paste. Once you have the right consistency, you can rub the paste all over the vase. Once you have spread the paste all over the vase, you should allow it to stand for about ten minutes before you wipe it away and rinse your vase thoroughly.

Alka seltzer

This is a great method if you cannot fit your hand or anything into the vase to scrub it. All you need to do is fill the vase with hot water and then add two alka seltzer tablets. Allow to stand for a few minutes before you rinse it out.

Baking soda and vinegar

Start by filling the flower vase with warm water. Make sure you do this over a sink just in case you spill. Now add a tablespoon of baking soda or use more if the vase is large. Now add some white vinegar. You will notice the mixture start to fizz. Once all the fizzing is done, you can wash the vase to get rid of any residue.

These are excellent methods that will work on any type of flower vase. Remember, no matter how much you try to keep your vases perfectly clean, residue can build up. Your vases may even start to become cloudy. One of the methods mentioned above will help give them back their gorgeous shine.
