Day 2 At The 2014 RHS Chelsea Flower Show

It has been yet another perfect day at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and it’s exciting to see how the older customs and traditions have been wonderfully complimented by fresh and ground-breaking designs.  Plenty of new flowers, plants and design aspects have come out of this show and, with several days still to go, visitors can look forward to even more fabulous floral delights and entertainment.

One of the biggest upcoming highlights is the RHS Chelsea at Twilight.  A light opera by Opera Holland Park will commence at 8:15pm on Friday evening.  Your ticket to this fine show will allow you entrance from 5:30pm as well as a glass of champagne to keep you company until the show starts.  The opera is expected to continue for one hour and it will surely be a night to remember.

In other news, the winner of the Product of the Year 2014 has been announced.  This year, for the first time ever, two finalists were awarded the main prize!  Joint winners Bosch Lawn and Garden and Harrod Horticultural both made innovative contributions in the form of the Isio Shape and Edge Shear and the Harrod Slot & Lock Storm Proof Vegetable Cages respectively.  With 17 finalists in the running, these two competitors can be proud of the outcome and how they managed to impress the judges with their sustainable and environmentally friendly gardening products.

While the Chelsea Flower Show may no longer be the largest in Britain, it is still considered the most prestigious and the show is famous for giving back.  This year, for the first time, the show is selling premium tickets for £400 a piece.  The proceeds are set to go to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show Appeal 2014 and to support their new apprenticeship programme.  These tickets are selling fast and it’s no wonder when you consider what you are getting for your money.  They allow the holder fast track entry from 8am as well as the option to exit and re-enter the show.  Included is also admission to the RHS Chelsea at Twilight concert.  Premium ticket holders will also be able to re-enter after 4pm for the sell-off on Saturday.
