Autumn tablescape design for all occasions

If you want to make your dining room table look amazing during the autumn season, you will love tablescapes. When creating the perfect autumn tablescape, you will only need a few basic items. If you are not sure what a tablescape is, it is similar to a centrepiece but it includes several decorative accessories on either side of the main arrangement or arrangements. Here’s what you need and how to create one yourself.

What you need:

• Seasonal blooms
• Red, orange, and yellow decorative accents
• Dark green foliage
• Dried sticks and branches
• Nuts, acorns and similar accessories
• Wreaths or wicker baskets
• Shrubs and/or moss
• Stone, gold, or brass coloured urns/pedestals

Instructions:

• To begin, you will need to decide whether you want to use fresh or dried flowers. This will determine the entire design of your autumn tablescape. Both options have pros and cons so take a moment to consider them all.
• Start with your main centrepiece. Attach some floral foam to a pedestal and make sure you soak the foam in water if you are using fresh flowers.
• Your largest flowers will be the focal flowers in the arrangement. So, place them in the middle of the foam.
• Add some foliage here and there around the focal blooms.
• Next, add your mass and filler flowers (medium and small blooms) around the main blooms.
• Once you are done, add some more foliage in between and around the edge of the arrangement to hide the foam. Add some leaves that trail down towards the table.
• Now you will need to place your arrangement in the middle of your table before adding to it.
• Around the base of your pedestal, you can add some dried leaves, acorns, nuts and even mini pumpkins or gourds. Don’t keep them just around the arrangement. You should spread them out along the length of the table.
• You can also add some mini bouquets in small vases along the length of the table. Kind of like offshoots of the main arrangement.

As you can see, making your own autumn tablescape is really easy! You can get creative with your vases as well as your accessories. You can also create a design based on the size of your table. The larger your table, the larger the design.
