Make sure that you choose one that is hardy enough to make it through the winter each year.

Lavender

Of all the soothing types of plants, lavender has got to be one of the most popular. You may have noticed how many baby products and even laundry detergents are lavender scented. This is because the smell is so relaxing and it helps aid sleep. They are so easy to grow and they thrive in areas with plenty of direct sunlight where other plants wilt. You can grow them as potted plants or plant them in your garden. Like jasmine, there are different types of lavender. Make sure that you choose the edible variety so that you can harvest the flowers to make your very own lavender tea.
