Repurpose your wedding flowers with love

Whether you are planning a small wedding or a big one, flowers are always a big part of the planning process. You will need flowers to decorate your ceremony, reception and you will need bouquets for your bridal party. After you have said your vows and celebrated your marriage, what will become of these blooms? Instead of letting them go to waste, why not do something to make others smile?

The Elderly

Donating your wedding flowers is an excellent way of brightening somebody’s day and sharing your joy. There are so many worthy causes out there that could use some cheering up. One such place is an elderly care facility. The elderly often feel lonely, out of touch and even neglected. You can brighten up their living area and make them all feel so much more positive.

Hospitals

Another group of people who could use some bright blooms are those in hospital. You can select a specific ward or several wards and have your flowers delivered to various parts of the hospital. Before having the flowers transported from your wedding to the hospital of your choice, you should check with the hospital regarding their policy on flowers. Certain areas of the hospital, like the ICU, might be off limits.

Children

People and children with disabilities can also use a positive addition to their home or care facility. It can become rather dull when you are surrounded by the same four walls day in and day out. Fresh blooms will also make the staff feel more positive which means that they will have a more positive impact on the people they are caring for.

If you would like, you can leave the flowers from the ceremony at the church. If you get married on a Friday or Saturday, then they will brighten the Sunday service. No matter where you decide to send your wedding flowers after the big day, you can be certain that they will make so many people smile.
