Queen receives Jubilee Roses at Chelsea Flower Show
The Queen has received her Jubilee bouquet of Roses that took over 10 years to create specifically for this one occasion. The flower was created by Peter Beales and it can now be grown by anyone in their garden.
The creator wanted to created a unique rose that could be presented to the Queen at the Chelsea Flower Show on the year of her diamond jubilee. With over 10 years in the making, the creators have stated that it was well worth it. The Queen, pictured above, appears over joyed with the flowers. It is unique due to its rare colour and petal arrangement. The flower flourishes with elegance and is representative of time. The smell is a little sweeter than the classic rose which makes this a rather special flower. The process for creating new breads of roses takes many years to achieve with 100s of variations of pollination that must be achieved by the creator. Each year when the flower reaches maturity is it bred with another variety. This continues until the right flower has been presented.
The rose was first presented to the Duchess Royal at Westminster. The RHS Chelsea Flower Show continues.
