Worlds Fastest Man in a Floral Display

The build up to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games is fast gaining momentum. People all over the country are beginning to get excited ahead of the prospect of witnessing some of the worlds greatest athletes in action. Many communities all over the UK are thinking of unique ideas on how to celebrate this occasion.

The people of Birmingham have decided to erect 10 flower displays all over the city. A full size flower figure of Usain Bolt is included as one of the flower displays in the city. The figure of Bolt took three weeks to complete and was designed and created by Birmingham City Council’s parks team who recently won a gold award at the well renowned Chelsea Flower Show.

As well as Bolt, Birmingham born Paralympian Jordanne Whiley has also been erected into a flower display. Whiley is Great Britain’s number one ladies wheelchair tennis player. Other athletes featured in the display range from gymnasts to fencers.

The displays will be unveiled in the build up of the Olympic torch arriving in the city on the 30 June.

Bolt and his Jamaican track team mates will train and stay in the City in the two weeks before the games begin. They will train at Birmingham University.
