Celebrate international friendship day

Friendship Day is celebrated this year on 30 July while, in the USA, celebrations are held on 5 August. No matter when you decide to celebrate those important friends in your life, it’s good to plan ahead and make it memorable! There are plenty of ways of celebrating this fun occasion. Here are some ideas:

Group celebration

For the most part, we all have at least a few friends. If your list of close friends is fairly long, you could host a fun Friendship Day party at your house. If you have just a handful of friends, you could choose to have an elegant tea or have each of your friends bring one friend or their partner/spouse along. It’s a great way of filling your home with happy faces. Especially since the busy festive season is just around the corner and, during this time, we often lose touch with many of our friends due to family commitments. If you are hosting a party, you could keep it casual with finger foods and colourful décor. Yellow roses are associated with friendship so why not use them in your décor?

One on one

Another option is to spend the day with your bestie. Plan a day out together and enjoy all the things you’re usually too busy to do. For example, you could plan a spa day together and get pampered from head to toe! Massages, facials, manicures – the works! This is the perfect way to relax, get rid of any stress and enjoy quality time with your friend. Another idea is to get lunch together or even just some coffee and cake. Of course, if you are strapped for cash, you could always invite your friend over and spoil them with their favourite meal.

Gifts

If you are shopping for the perfect Friendship Day gift, you’ll be happy to know that there are plenty of options. As mentioned above, yellow roses are the symbol of friendship so you could present your friend with a bright yellow bouquet. You could also include some chocolates, perhaps some bubbly, or even get one of those cheesy, yet cute, friendship necklaces or bracelets. It’s something that they can wear and it will remind them of you every time they look at it.

There are no strict rules when it comes to celebrating this fun occasion. The whole point is to let your friends know how much you appreciate them and how much they mean to you. Regular nurturing is needed in all relationships – even your closest friendships.
