Valentine’s date mistakes you should always avoid

If you want to spoil somebody special this year, you want to make sure that you don’t make these common Valentine’s date mistakes. By minding a few simple guidelines, you will not only keep your partner happy, but you will also make them feel as special as they should on this day.

Answering calls

This is the biggest problem whenever on a date and a Valentine’s date is no exception. The best thing to do is keep your phones on silent. If you have children and somebody is watching them, you should still keep your phones on but you should switch to silent.

Texts and social media

Just like answering your phone can ruin your Valentine’s date, so too can texting and engaging in social media interactions. If you spend the night on your phone, you will not be giving your partner the attention they deserve. Of course, you can take pictures together but you should wait until the evening is over before posting them on social media.

Too crowded

It might sound like a fun idea to arrange a double or group Valentine’s date. However, this can really take all the romance out of the evening. Save your double dates and group dining for another night and make the most of this one day to devote all your attention to your partner. It will give you a chance to really connect without worrying about minding what you say.

Under budget

Never go out unprepared. Make sure that you know how much the average meal costs at the restaurant you will be visiting. Then, make sure that you have extra to spend. Not only do you want to budget for dessert, but a tip as well. You don’t want to be short on cash or have your card declined at the end of the evening.

These are just a few of the most common Valentine’s date mistakes that are easy to avoid. All you need to do is think of your partner’s perspective. Consider how you would feel if they spent hours on their phone, insisted on a group dinner or didn’t have enough to pay the bill in the end. Not only will it be less than romantic, but it could also be embarrassing.
