Trumpet vase flower arrangement design steps

Trumpet vase flower arrangements are truly spectacular and they are often used to decorate such events as weddings and milestone birthdays. The height of these vases is what makes them so unique and special. They are usually made from crystal or glass and, as the name suggests, they have a trumpet-like shape. The neck is narrow while the top is significantly wider. They are also tall enough that you don’t have to worry about your guests not being able to make eye contact with one another. If you are wondering how to arrange flowers in this type of vase, here are some simple steps to follow.

What you need:

  • A trumpet vase
  • Roses (lavender shade for this design)
  • Lisianthus
  • Violet carnations
  • Eucalyptus for foliage
  • Plastic plate
  • Floral foam

Method:

  • Start by trimming the floral foam to fit the tray and make sure that the tray fits inside the top of the trumpet vase.
  • Soak the floral foam and place it on the tray on your workspace. You will only need to place the arrangement in the vase once you are done creating the design.
  • Now it’s time to add some foliage around the edge of your floral foam. You can point the stems downwards so that they help conceal the plastic tray once it is placed atop the vase.
  • You can also set some foliage aside for use in the rest of the display.
  • Now add the roses and make sure that you space them apart so as not to create clusters.
  • Next, add carnations and lisianthus. Again, make sure that you spread them out so that there aren’t any clusters.
  • Once you have enough flowers covering all sides and the top of the display, you can fill in the gaps with your foliage. This will add height and fullness to the arrangement.
  • Place the tray on top of the trumpet vase and set on a table. If you are using a tall floor vase, you can simply set this display in an otherwise dull corner to bring it to life.

This method can be used to create a trumpet vase arrangement of any size. The larger the vase, of course, the larger your flowers should be. For instance, sunflowers, hydrangeas and chrysanthemums are all excellent for taller displays while roses and carnations are great for table displays. There are also flowers like lilies that are so versatile you can use them in just about any arrangement.
