Spruce up your home for spring

Spring is the perfect season for sprucing up your home. During the winter, it’s not uncommon for our energy levels to drop. Particularly due to the holidays and the onset of the new year, we hardly have time to keep our homes organised. So, over these colder months, it’s easy for certain chores to take a backseat. When the weather starts to warm up and the days become longer, our energy levels tend to increase. This is why so many people feel the need to do some spring cleaning around the house.

The first thing to remember is to tackle one room at a time. It’s not just about rotating your wardrobe, but also going through your clothes in search of old clothes that you no longer wear. Place themin a bag or box and donate these clothes and other useful items if you like.

Once you have sorted through all your closets and drawers in the room, it’s time to sort out your table space. Get rid of any clutter and clean each surface as you go. Work your way from room to room and don’t be afraid to take it slow. For many, cleaning one room per day or even over a period of two days is far more reasonable than trying to do it all over the weekend.

After sorting through all of your things and cleaning every corner, it’s time for some much needed spring décor. Nothing says “Welcome Spring” better than a fresh bouquet of spring flowers! Ask your local florist for one or more bunches of seasonal flowers and decorate your entire home!

Every room can benefit from floral décor. The important thing to remember is that the size of the arrangement will depend on the amount of space you have available. So, if you have a spacious living room or kitchen, these rooms can benefit from a larger bouquet. On the other hand, bedrooms and bathrooms might be smaller and you may want to scale the arrangements down.

If you are hosting a breakfast, lunch or dinner during the spring season, make sure that you decorate the table accordingly and, if you like, you can also present each guest with a corsage or buttonhole upon arrival.
