Spring flowers in bloom

Spring is here and the air is filled with all sorts of wonderful fresh scents. The smell of floral perfume delights the senses and it’s the perfect time to welcome nature into your home in the form of fresh flower arrangements. Here are a few lovely blooms in season during these mild months.

Primrose is a colourful bloom that opens during the earlier part of the spring season. They are available in red, pink, yellow, white, and orange. This particular flower is known for its hardy nature as well as its association with nurturing and kindness.

Hyacinths are available in several lovely colours. They can be enjoyed as cut flowers or potted plants. Whether you prefer blue, orange, lavender, pink, yellow, red, or white, hyacinths will certainly brighten any room. If you choose this potted plant for your home or office, it’s best to make sure that it’s kept in partial shade.

Pansies are also lovely spring flowers and these plants bloom almost immediately after the snow melts. These annuals are best planted during the autumn so that they are ready to sprout and bloom when the weather warms up enough. If you fail to plant in the autumn, you can still plant in the beginning of spring and enjoy their blooms before summer.

Daffodils are known for their striking yellow colour and elegant arrangement of its petals. Although we commonly associate daffodils with yellow, they are also available in orange and white which means that you have even more from which to choose. They usually bloom between March and May and, as cut flowers and they look lovely on their own and along with other spring flowers.

Remember, these spring flowers are in season but this does not mean that they are the only flowers available at your florist. Various flowers like roses are considered staples which means that florists like to keep them in stock throughout the year even when they’re not in season.
