Spring Cleaning and Decorating

If you have not yet given your home a thorough clean after the long winter, now is definitely the time to do so! Dust, dirt, and clutter tends to get a bit out of control during the colder months. Cleaning your home is the best way to welcome the warmer weather and it can also help boost your mood.

The first thing to do is clean all surfaces and every corner of every room. Now is the time to move furniture and wipe away every bit of dirt. Go through all of your cupboards, wipe away any dust, and repack or refold items so that they are neat and tidy. While sorting through your cupboards, take note of anything that is broken, old, or things you simply do not use. Sort them according to what you want to do with them. For example, old clothing might not fit anymore but you can still donate your clothes to a local charity or shelter. Broken items should be discarded if you have no intention of repairing them.

Think about rearranging your home to make life easier. For example, you might want to move some items from higher up in your cupboard to a lower shelf for easy access. Items that you do not use on a regular basis can be stored in harder to reach places. Heavier items should be stored closer to the floor while lightweight items can be stored overhead. Keep it practical and safe. You don’t want to run the risk of glass falling from a high shelf.

When your home has been properly cleaned and organised, it’s time to think of spring décor! Nothing is more appropriate than gorgeous fresh spring flowers. Ask your florist for seasonal flowers or look for a bouquet that includes your favourite pastel shades. Light shades of pink, purple, off-white, and pale yellow are all lovely. If you want something a bit brighter, you could look for a bouquet that looks like wildflowers. Wild blooms come in various shades and colours. Many of which are beautifully bright in order to attract bugs that help with pollination. So think about bright orange, yellow, dark purple, and even some small white blooms. These bouquets also look perfect when paired with some lush greenery. It will make them look like they are wildflowers growing in a beautiful meadow.

Fresh flowers usually last for a couple of weeks. If you want a bouquet or flower arrangement that will last longer, ask your florist about their selection of silk flowers. Silk blooms last much longer and if you invest in high-quality silk blooms, your guests will never know the difference! So, don’t delay, clean and decorate your home today and make the most of the beautiful spring season.
