Presenting your flowers in the perfect way

When buying flowers, you will normally need to choose between a number of packaging or presentation options. Vases, baskets, and colourful wrapping paper are all popular for various reasons. The type of packaging you choose will depend on the occasion, the recipient, and your budget. Each of these options has its own list of pros and cons.

A vase arrangement is probably the most popular option. Since the bouquet is already arranged in a vase, it has a source of water and is ready to enjoy. Each stem is carefully positioned for the perfect visual effect. That said, if your florist does not include a free vase, you will need to buy one and this will increase the price of the floral gift. Vases are usually the most expensive option but they are worth the spend if the recipient does not have any.

Baskets are also great because they are more affordable, lightweight, and easy to transport. When your flowers are arranged in a basket, they will be positioned in floral foam (which will be properly soaked in water). This means that your flowers will be completely hydrated and ready to display. The only thing you will need to do is check the foam to make sure it’s moist and add water as needed. Don’t add too much or it could spill over the plastic tray and ruin the basket. Both baskets and vases can be reused in a number of ways around the house so you can be sure that they will come in handy long after the flowers have perished.

Decorative or wrapping paper is a cheaper option and perfect for when you are on a budget or when the recipient already owns a number of vases. It’s also great for all those times you order flowers for yourself. There usually is no need to get fancy when you are pampering yourself and you obviously know whether or not you have a suitable vase. If you have this type of flower arrangement delivered to your home because you want to present them to the recipient yourself, you should place in a container that will offer sufficient support rather than resting the bunch on the seat or floor of your car.

No matter which option you choose, make sure that you always choose the right flowers for the occasion and according to the recipient’s preferences. When you keep the recipient in mind, you can never go wrong!
