What you need:

  • A medium-sized model truck (one with an open back)

  • Floral foam with a plastic tray that will fit in the back of the toy truck

  • Bright flowers that he will enjoy

  • Floral food

  • Scissors

Instructions:

  • The truck will act as the vase for this arrangement which makes it perfect for a man.

  • Place the plastic tray inside the back of the truck.

  • Trim the floral foam to the right size so that it fits onto the plastic tray

  • Dissolve the floral food in some clean water before you soak the floral foam in this water.

  • Now you can trim your flower stems to the correct length and arrange them in the foam. If you cut the stems at an angle, they are easier to insert into the foam. The top flowers will need longer stems than those around the sides.

  • If you are struggling to choose flowers, there are a number of great options. Just make sure that the blooms you choose offer maximum coverage. In other words, you don’t want any of the foam to show. Since you already have a truck as the main theme, you don’t have to worry about the flowers seeming “feminine” in any way. So, feel free to choose blooms like daisies, carnations, and even a mixed bunch of roses. You also don’t need to stick to one type of flower. You can mix them up and mix your colours up too.

  • Remember, if it’s easier, you can arrange the flowers outside of the truck but, once you place them inside, you will need to make sure that they cover the foam and fit perfectly over the edge of the back of the truck.
