Going solo on Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is an exciting occasion for couples around the world. Of course, or those who find themselves single around this time of year, such a romantic celebration might make them want to hide under the covers all day. The best way of getting through Valentine’s Day as a single man or woman, is to embrace this day and spoil yourself!

The first thing to focus on is your mindset. Instead of focusing on the fact that you don’t have a partner or spouse by your side, you can focus on the positive things in your life and think about all the things that make you feel good. If you know that you’re probably not going to receive a romantic bouquet on this day, why not place a flower order for yourself? Take your time to search for a bunch that you love and suits your budget. Pay for it and schedule the delivery for Valentine’s Day or even the day before. If you have the flowers delivered the day before, then you will enjoy them a day early and you will have something beautiful to greet you as soon as you open your eyes in the morning! While you’re at it, have your florist include a bottle of bubbly or box of chocolates too!

You should also plan your day in advance so that you have something to look forward to. Think about the things you love to do all on your own. For example, if you enjoy getting your nails done, perhaps a facial, and a massage, then schedule an appointment at your favourite salon. Take your time to enjoy these treatments and make a day of it! Not only will you feel good but you will look great too! Having your hair done is also a great idea because you can use this opportunity to transform your look.

Also, just because you don’t have date, it doesn’t mean that you have to spend the day alone. There are plenty of singles parties that are perfect for lifting those spirits and, who knows, you might meet somebody somebody interesting! You could even host a party if you are so inclined. Invite all of your single friends and encourage them to spread the word as well. If you want something a bit more intimate, invite a handful of friends and spend a few hours together watching movies or enjoying other activities everyone enjoys.
