Decorating your home this autumn

If you have not yet embraced the beauty of autumn, now is your chance! Here are some of the best ways to make the most of this wonderfully abundant time of year.

Black can help you create the ultimate colour contrast when paired with bright colours. Black elements help the other colours in the arrangements ‘pop’. Orange and black, for example, are a popular combination when it comes to Halloween flowers.

It’s not only about the visual elements, but the scents as well. If you want to really transform your home for the season, you should consider using different scents based on the time of year. For example, during the autumn months, you may like to fill your home with scents like cinnamon, apple, or pumpkin. Oil diffusers are excellent for creating a lovely atmosphere while making your home smell warm and welcoming.

Since the weather is getting cooler, now is the opportunity to decorate your home with warm colours. Orange, red, yellow, and brown are all lovely options. You can even add some splashes of bronze, cream, and purple for contrast. While you want to avoid cool colours, you can still include some green. It should, however, be a very dark shade of green rather than lighter greens.

Consider warm lighting too, while you’re at it. Even if you do not want to use real candles, you can use LED candles instead. This will help give the impression of candle light without the risk of fire. Some LED candles even flicker slightly to create the impression of a real flame.

Last, but not least, you can also decorate with seasonal fresh produce. Think about pumpkins, gourds, and even apples of various colours. Remember to select the appropriate bowl or platter to display your fruit. You want to make sure that it suits the autumn theme too.
