The most beautiful white blooms

While we are often attracted to colourful blooms like red, pink, orange, and purple, there’s a lot that can be said about white flowers. White blooms often represent purity and they are also a popular choice when sending sympathy flowers or for more somber occasions like funerals. They are ideal for showing your respect and support when somebody has lost a loved one. Another advantage of choosing white flowers is that you have plenty of options. There’s certainly no shortage of choices when it comes to white blooms!

During the summer months, you will notice that there are plenty of flowers available at your local florist. You should have no difficulty finding white roses, hydrangeas, rhododendron, and dahlias to name just a few! During the spring, white blooms like carnations, gardenias, peonies, and ranunculus are in bloom. That said, in many cases, their bloom cycle may extend to the early or even later parts of summer. It depends on the local weather conditions such as the amount or rain and temperatures.

As for the cooler months of the year, you will be happy to know that gypsophila, or baby’s breath, is in bloom during the autumn season along with bouvardia and camellia. Flowers that bloom in the summer may also have a longer cycle that includes the first few weeks of autumn. During the winter months, many people think that flowers are scarce. There are, however, some pleasant floral surprises! White flowers in bloom during this time of the year include calla lilies, dendrobium orchids, spider mums, and snowdrops.

Remember, just because a particular flower is not in season, this does not mean that your florist cannot order it. Thanks to importing and greenhouse growing conditions, we can enjoy all types of flowers throughout the year. That said, if price is a concern, you may want to stick to locally grown seasonal flowers instead.
