Advice when sending Christmas flowers

As Christmas approaches, the shops fill up with eager and even desperate shoppers.  Even online shops are busy and, even though can’t see the queue at the check out, it doesn’t mean that it’s not there!  For anyone planning to send flowers for Christmas, there are some important tips that you need to remember at this busy time of year.

The first thing to bear in mind is your timing.  Regardless of the occasion you are celebrating, there are few things worse than shopping at the last minute.  You run around I a frantic state and this can really affect your judgement.  Since you are pressed for time, you might not have enough time to shop around and you could end up spending more than you initially intended.  When it comes to busy times like Christmas, it’s even more important to plan properly and avoid that last minute rush.  In fact, planning and having gift ideas in mind can be done months before Christmas.  If you know what you want, it’s that much easier to find it!

When ordering flowers, it’s good to know that online florists have more than just fresh flowers to offer.  They also have gorgeous potted plants and other extras that can be added to each flower delivery.  Poinsettias are traditionally associated with Christmas which is why these potted plants make such fantastic Christmas gifts.  You can choose to add on something like a box of fine chocolates, a bottle of wine or something else.  Each online florist has their own collection of extras so it really does depend on what they have for sale.  Different online florists also have different delivery schedules and you most probably will not find one that is able to offer delivery on Christmas.  Therefore, you need to be prepared to place your flower order well enough in advance to make sure that it can be delivered a day or two before Christmas.

You will also need to plan how many gifts you will need.  It is so much easier to place a single order than to go back and forth.  You could quite easily lose track of what you ordered and who you have already catered for.  The best thing to do is to make a list of names and take note of each gift as you go.  You can make sure that they are similar but not exactly the same.  You don’t want to give the same gift to everyone since some of your friends may know one another and it will make them feel like you didn’t put much effort into finding the perfect gift just for them.

In terms of flower delivery, even if your florist does not offer delivery on Christmas, you can still have the flowers delivered to your address and you can present them to the recipient(s) in person.  If you order several bouquets, your florist might even offer free flower delivery or some kind of discount or special deal on your flowers.

Another important point to keep in mind is your budget.  No matter where you intend on doing your shopping, you should set an overall budget as well as a separate budget for each bouquet.  It will definitely help you keep all of your gifts within the same price range and you will avoid over spending.

Lastly, if you plan on having each bouquet delivered to their respective recipients, you need their details for delivery purposes.  You will need their full names, physical addresses and phone numbers.  Take your time and complete these details very carefully.  You cannot hold the florist responsible if you made a mistake.
