Sunflowers are like a great big smile. Apart from their sheer size, these blooms are also bright yellow with a contrasting dark centre which really makes them stand out. Florists love using sunflowers as part of colourful centrepieces as well as all on their own. When we think about sunflowers, we often think of sunflower oil. Sunflower oil is a popular household item and we use it in various dishes. While too much of a good thing isn’t recommended, reasonable amounts of sunflower oil in your diet give you a great boost of Vitamin E.

As for the effect of these flowers on your mood, you can expect a wonderful boost because yellow flowers are known for elevating the mood and making you feel happier. When you feel happy, your life is that much easier to manage because you ave a more positive outlook.

If you have thin hair or your hair tends to get a bit frizzy, you can use some sunflower oil to protect against breakage and keep your hair looking its best. It will also help prevent hair loss so, for those who are worried about their hair thinning, this is a great way to help prevent that from happening.

This flower was used by Native Americans to treat a number of ailments. These included ulcers, constipation, sore throats, and other sorts of pain and inflammation. If you swish around a tablespoon of sunflower oil in your mouth for about 15 minutes, it will help relieve pain. It also helps promote good oral health. For teething babies or any serious toothaches, you can mix a few drops of clove oil with a tablespoon of sunflower oil. Massage this oil gently into the gums to help relieve the pain and inflammation.
