Our busy lives mean that we usually focus on our responsibilities more than romance. Every day, our top priority is to go to work, cook, clean, take care of the kids, and so on. Couples who have been together for years usually forget to take time out for themselves. Which is why now is the perfect opportunity to set aside some time to plan that ultimate romantic gesture.
The element of surprise is a must! So, while your partner or spouse is at work, you can prepare things at home. You might have time to cook but, if you don’t, you could always pick up something delicious from your partner or spouse’s favourite restaurant. Choose their favourite foods from starters to dessert and don’t forget to pick up a bottle of wine while you’re at it.
Keep the food in the warming drawer of your oven while you set everything up. You will need to make sure that the house is neat and tidy, for starters. You will then need to set the table. So, place a tablecloth on the table and set out your cutlery and crockery along with glasses for water and wine. Place the bottle of wine in the fridge until a few minutes before your loved one is due to arrive home. When they are about to arrive, you should place your wine in a bucket of ice on the table.
Set some fresh flowers in the middle of the table and, if you like, you can also light some candles. Put some mood music on and run a relaxing hot bubble bath. You want the tub to be ready when your loved one gets home. Again, you can light the bathroom with some candles to encourage relaxation. When your partner or spouse arrives home, you can lead them to the bathroom and, while they enjoy a relaxing soak, you can get the table ready.
Once they have enjoyed their soak, it’s time to take a seat at the table and enjoy your meal. Serve each course and don’t let your partner or spouse lift a finger! Not even when it comes time to clean up.If you like, you can also pamper your loved one with a little gift like some jewellery or a bottle of their favourite perfume. Everything you do, should be to pamper your loved one and let them know that you love them.
