Make a gorgeous amaryllis flower display

You need:

  • A clear, cylindrical vase

  • Amaryllis flowers

  • Light, thin foliage like beargrass

  • Flower food

  • Scissors

  • Fresh water

Instructions:

When you receive your amaryllis flowers, you need to put them in fresh water immediately so that they do not become dehydrated.

  • Clean your vase thoroughly before filling with water and adding flower preserve as perthe instructions on the package. The flower preserve should be completley dissolved before adding any stems to the vase water.

  • Trim the ends of the flower stems and make sure that you cut them at an angle for maximum absorption. If you cut them under water, it will prevent air bubbles from getting into the stem and obstructing the absorption of water and nutrients. Cut them to different lengths it will help create a natural-looking bouquet.

  • Remove any lower leaves to prevent them from encouraging bacterial growth in the vase water.

  • When placing your flowers in the vase, you should make sure that they are facing outwards. The flowers with the taller stems should be placed in the middle of the arrangement with the shorter ones around the brim of the vase.

  • When you are done adding your flowers, it’s time for th foliage. You will need to trim your foliage to the correct length and then add bits and pieces here and there to give the arrangement a full and luxurious appearance.

  • Remember to change the vase water regularly and retrim the stems as needed. Display your flowers in an area away from direct sunlight, wind, and any kind of heater or air conditioner.
