Fun single-flower arrangement idea

Flower arrangements come in all shapes and sizes. You don’t always need a huge bouquet to show somebody how much they mean to you. Here’s how to make a beautiful bud arrangement with just a few items and a single rose.

You will need:

  • One red rose
  • A cylindrical block of wood (approximately 15cm in height)
  • Drill
  • Slim plastic or glass tube
  • Colourful wire (two different colours and about 3m of each colour)
  • Wire cutters
  • Cardboard or plastic cone

Method:

  • The first thing to remember is to choose a platic of cardboard cone with a base that fits over the piece of wood.
  • Take your first piece of wire and start wrapping it around the cone from top to bottom or bottom to top. Avoid creating a uniform design and allow your wire to overlap and criss-cross.
  • Cut the end of the wire and secure the cut end in place.
  • Repeat the same process with your second piece of wire and make sure that you use a contrasting colour so that they both stand out.
  • Drill a hole into the middle of the wooden block and place the glass or plastic tube inside. Your tube should rest in the hole but not too far. The hole is only there to secure the tube in an upright position.
  • Add some fresh water to your glass tube if you are using a fresh rose.
  • Remove the cone from the wires you wrapped to reveal a cone-shaped wire design. Place the wire cone over the tube and press it down around the wooden block.
  • Now add your flower and enjoy!

This is great for Valentine’s Day but you can also use this idea to create arrangements for other occasions like birthdays, Mother’s Day, and so on.
