Flowers for a Mother’s Day lunch

Mother’s Day gives us all the perfect excuse to pamper mum and treat her to everything that will make her smile from ear to ear the whole day. One thing that mothers love is spending time with their children and family. So, why not plan a Mother’s Day lunch and make it a memorable family feast?

When planning this delightful lunch, you will need to cater to mum’s taste buds and plan the décor too while you’re at it. Before you plan a thing, you should decide whether you would like to host a formal or casual event. Even if you plan an intimate dining experience, you can still make it elegant by selecting the appropriate menu and decorations.

An elegant Mother’s Day lunch is best complimented by elegant décor. This is where less really is more and you can get away with some really simple designs. Consider something along the lines of orchids or roses. Bud arrangements and small centrepieces or tablescapes are certainly the way to go.

As for a casual lunch, you might prefer a bouquet that consists of carnations, perhaps lilies, and flowers that are part of the daisy family. The types of flowers you choose will depend on the size of the bouquet of course. Remember, you don’t want your centrepiece or centrepieces to be too tall or your guests won’t be able to see one another.

As your guests arrive, you can present each of them with a pink carnation in honour of Mother’s Day. You can pin it to their dress, jacket, or you could order wrist corsages if you prefer. This gives every guest something to make them feel like they are part of the celebration and something to take home.

Finally, if you want to give all the mothers something special on this day, you could order a little potted plant or bud flower arrangement for each of them. You can also add some luxury chocolates to each place setting for a surprise sweet treat.
