Different houseplants have different beauty benefits. Many plants are easy to grow and you don’t need to be a gardening expert to help them thrive. Here are some of the best plants to grow in your home or garden.

Aloe Vera

Aloe is known for soothing a variety of skin ailments including acne, irritations, bug bites and even sunburns. To use this plant, all you need to do is cut the plant and squeeze out some of the juice. These houseplants are also easy to grow since they do not require frequent or extra special care

Echinacea

This extract can be made by boiling the roots and combining it with a base oil like coconut oil. This lotion can be used to reduce skin inflammation. The extract can also be consumed to help treat colds. These might not be considered houseplants but you certainly can grow them in your garden.

Lavender

Lavender can be grown as houseplants or in your garden. They are excellent for repelling various insects and they can help treat burns and cuts. You can create your own lavender infusion by drying the flowers before soaking them in oil and leaving the infusing flower oil in the sun. Strain the infusion and add it to cream or lotion before applying to your skin.

Roses

Roses are not just beautiful to look at, they can make your skin beautiful too! Grow roses as houseplants or in your garden. You can boil the petals in water for about 20 minutes before straining and allowing to cool. Use this water to moisturise and refresh your skin.

Chamomile

Chamomile flowers are not normally grown as houseplants but you can grow large numbers in your garden. When ready, you should gather the flowers and dry them out. Place the flowers in a glass bottle and add oil. Cover the jar and place in the sun for 6 – 8 hours per day for 2 weeks. Strain and use this infusion to soothe dry skin.

These are just a few of the best and easiest to grow houseplants. Each plant has its own unique benefits and these are excellent natural alternatives too. Before using any of these natural remedies, however, it is important that you test the infusion on the inner part of your forearm before applying it to any other parts of your body.
