Harrogate Flower Show Bath of Flowers

Spring is the perfect season to give your garden a makeover and start fresh. What many people struggle with, however, is inspiration. The fabulously famous Harrogate Flower Show took place last weekend and it was definitely a source of inspiration as well as guidance! Whether you enjoy arranging cut flowers or tending to your blooming garden, this show is an event you don’t want to miss!

The GREENhouse was an extremely inspired part of the flower show this year. Its purpose was to bring home and garden together in perfect harmony. Features included living wallpaper, a beautiful cascading flower shower, a lovely-smelling herb garden, and a fun display called a vege-table. A massive floral installation was also created by teams of florists from all across the area. Flower experts agreed that there has been a steady trend among homeowners who love to welcome nature into their homes. Whether it’s with a bouquet of fresh flowers or a beautiful potted plant, nature always has a place in our living spaces. This trend has increased over the years as we become more in touch with nature and we crave that connection more than ever.

The Great Yorkshire Showground was also home to Secret Sheds where visitors could enjoy special messages in a new and creative way. The main reason behind the idea of these sheds was the fact that full-size show gardens are such a huge undertaking for many. It’s not just about finances but also about planning. The Secret Sheds addressed these two issues perfectly!

The Designed to Last feature is new to the Avenue show gardens and the goal is to showcase design solutions for real gardens. Particularly those with problematic growing conditions. Large-scale gardens ranging from the Tree of Life to the mills and moors of Yorkshire were some of the themes enjoyed by visitors.

With a full schedule of demonstrations and talks across four live theatres, there was always something new to see and do. Some of the most popular of all being the Grow! Garden Theatre, Shed Talk, and the Feast! Food Theatre where a team of chefs prepared scrumptious seasonal dishes.

A pop-up play patch was available for younger visitors. There were also plenty of educational activities that allowed little ones to enjoy an entertaining hands-on experience. Visitors could also take their pick from various handmade crafts, gifts, and quality garden products.
